Libelula Lounge Lodge is a small glamping property handcrafted by its owners, just a short walk from Playa Potrero on the Pacific coast of Guanacaste. The lodge's character stems from an unusual blend: references to African safari camps, local materials and artisan craftsmanship. Common areas are organized around a large outdoor pool, among the most generous in the Potrero area, and a tropical garden. The Libelula restaurant, open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., serves Latin American cuisine with international touches, and serves as the social hub of the property.

The whole endeavor espouses a subtle ecological approach: natural materials, local craftsmanship, human-scaled design. Guests come here more for the atmosphere than for standard hotel amenities.

The lodge offers five rooms, each with its own distinctive décor, available in three formats:

• Three African safari tents, equipped with a triple-roof system that regulates interior temperature.
• One rancho unit, comprising two separate bedrooms with private bathrooms, connected by a central living area. An ideal format for families or small groups traveling together.

Comfort features include pillow-top mattresses, Egyptian cotton linens, rainfall showers and mosquito netting. All furnishings and light fixtures were custom-designed, giving each space its own visual identity.

The Guanacaste coast features numerous beaches accessible within minutes by car: Playa Flamingo, Playa Prieta, Playa Penca and, further afield, Playa Conchal and Brasilito. The area is ideal for boat outings, snorkeling and excursions to nearby mangroves.
